Jackie Chan won’t leave any of $400 million fortune to son

After Jackie Chan passes away, his children will not inherit the enormous riches that he amassed throughout his long and successful career in the film industry.

At the time this article was written, Chan had an extraordinarily enormous wealth that is thought to be somewhere in the neighbourhood of $400 million (or approximately £323 million), and such a sum would make for a fantastic inheritance.

The legendary figure in the world of film has expressed his views on this topic rather unequivocally in the past. In his autobiography published in 2015, titled Never Grow Up, he discussed how he insisted that his son find his own place in the world and earn his own living.

The famous actor recounted in his memoir a time when he and his son Jaycee were travelling together on an aeroplane. The actor had reserved a seat in first class for himself but had purchased an economy class ticket for his kid.

Although Chan informed his son, Jaycee, "you have no money now, therefore you sit here" in economy class, Jaycee was eventually allowed to sit next to his father in first class because a waitress upgraded him into an empty first class seat.

Jaycee was able to acquire a free upgrade into first class on every flight they had travelled together after that, according to what Chan said in his book. Jaycee would inform his father, "I got another upgrade; I don't need money," throughout these flights.

In an effort to teach his son a lesson, he wrote as follows: "You are fortunate to have me as a father because not everyone does. They are responsible for waging their own wars. When your own efforts allow you to move up to the front row of the classroom, you can consider yourself to have achieved success."

When asked about his choice to give all of his wealth to charity instead of leaving any of it to his son, he explained his reasoning as follows: "If he has the ability to, he can generate his own income. If that is not the case, then he will be squandering my time."

Although Jaycee has worked as a singer and starred in a few movies over his career, he has not achieved a major level of financial success in any of these endeavours.

In 2014, he was caught in China with marijuana in his possession and sentenced to a prison term that lasted for six months.

Numerous celebrities have reportedly settled on the conclusion that they will not leave their fortunes to their children, or that they will do so with strict stipulations regarding how the money might be spent.

Daniel Craig, a former James Bond, stated that he finds the idea of leaving any of his wealth to his children as a legacy to be "disgusting" and has stated that he intends to "get rid of it."

Craig has stated that he intends to "give away" his money before he passes away, a sentiment that was echoed by actor Ashton Kutcher, who said he'd set up a bit of a trust for his kids and maybe invest if they had "a good business plan," but otherwise it'd be going to charity. Craig's statement was echoed by Ashton Kutcher.

The British TV legend Bruce Forsyth passed away and left behind a fortune worth £11.7 million. However, in his will, he did not leave any of that fortune to his six children. Instead, he established trusts for his grandchildren and left the balance of his estate to his wife.

In the meantime, Shaquille O'Neal has stated that in order for his children to inherit some of his riches, they will need to earn two degrees from universities. On the other hand, Hugh Hefner's wife and children were required to remain drug-free in order to receive their share of his fortune.
